Dear forwards, gather round the net,

There's something you ain't figured yet.

We know you love to wheel and score,

But there's a whole damn rink to explore.

Beyond the circles, past the play,

There's a lonely soul who's been there all day.

He's got a cannon, vision, and might,

And he'd love to shoot that puck tonight.

See that blue line? Way back there?

That's where your defenseman's standing, I swear.

He's waving his stick, he's ready to go,

But you keep skating circles down low.

Now here's a lesson, simple and sweet,

Plant your ass where the goalie can't see.

Let that shot come flying through,

And watch what a little traffic can do.

The goalie makes a save? Fantastic, my friend!

That's not where the scoring chances end.

The puck kicks loose, the goalie sprawls,

Now bury that biscuit before he recalls.

A rebound's a gift, a second-chance treat,

For forwards who know where to plant their feet.

So screen that goalie, tip that shot,

And clean up the garbage. That's your lot.

The point's not a rumor. It's not folklore.

It's where your defenseman begs for more.

So lift your head, make that pass,

Then get to the net and park your ass.
